The Role
Cloudsmith is looking for a Technical Content Marketer to lead the development of high-quality, technically accurate content that educates and inspires DevOps practitioners, platform engineering teams, and software engineering leaders. This role will own the content lifecycle across multiple formats including blogs, white papers, research reports, videos, webinars, and web content. You’ll play a critical role in helping Cloudsmith articulate its product value, share domain expertise, and engage a deeply technical audience.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with our campaign marketing manager to manage a content roadmap that supports awareness, repeat readership, education, and demand generation goals
Research, plan, and write technical content that resonates with developers, SREs, DevSecOps teams, and engineering leaders
Work cross-functionally with Product Marketing, Product, Developer Relations, Engineering, and Sales to uncover stories and use cases worth telling
Ability to get up to speed quickly and communicate about technical advancements within the organization and larger DevOps community
Lead the creation of flagship content assets including technical guides, blogs, reports, video scripts, and webinar outlines
Compliment (but not overlapping with) our tech docs by providing more editorial takes on them
React to timely market news and pressures with editorial responses
Translate complex concepts like artifact management, CI/CD, SBOMs, and software supply chain security into accessible, authoritative content
Manage an editorial calendar and ensure consistent publishing cadence across channels
Syndicate content across multiple channels and formats
Review, edit, and contribute to content created by other stakeholders to ensure technical accuracy and brand consistency
Track performance of key content initiatives and optimize based on data and feedback
Required Experience, Qualities & Skills
4 to 8 years of experience in technical writing, developer advocacy, or content marketing with a focus on DevOps, infrastructure, or developer tools
Hands-on experience writing code and a solid understanding of modern DevOps workflows and technologies (CI/CD, containers, IaC, artifact management, etc)
Proven ability to write and produce content across formats: blogs, long-form guides, web pages, webinars, video scripts, and more
Comfort working in Google Docs, including extensive use of comments and suggested edits from stakeholders
Comfort using Slack as a research tool, and a collaboration tool
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with an editorial mindset and a focus on clarity, accuracy, and value
Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment with a high bar for quality and technical depth
Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including engineers and product managers
Familiarity with SEO best practices and content analytics tools
Experience building or scaling content programs at a developer-focused or infrastructure SaaS company
Prior work with or within DevOps, platform engineering, or security teams
Video or livestream production experience
